Les Miserables Tampa reviews
Les Mis is anything but Miserable!
WOW! I attended the preview performance on Saturday 3/29. It was nothing less than spectacular. From the moment the first note played my heartstrings were tugged in each and every direction. The performers are OUTSTANDING--each and every one of them. I can't even point out one who was a standout. They ALL were brilliant, but I have to especially applaud the Thenardier's (wonderfully silly performances by Sharon Sachs and Mark David Kaplan) for bringing the much needed comic relief to my aching heart. Every principal had their character down to perfection and each ensemble member was fully engaged in the moment for each and every scene. Ivan Rutherford was a born Jean Valjean....could not have loved him more. The orchestra was powerful yet sensual, and the scenes moved flawlessly, seamlessly. Costumes were beautifully miserable! A huge shout out to directors Rachael Rockwell and Roberta Duchak and orchestra director Ben Johnson. What an all-star cast, crew and production team! Do not miss this show folks!
